Background
Since its inception in 2013, Panasonic has successfully donated 100,000 solar lanterns using the company's renewable energy technology to disadvantaged areas in more than 30 countries. In Viet Nam, the project has donated over 3,000 solar lanterns, positively transforming the lives of people in non-electric areas of Dien Bien, Yen Bai, Thanh Hoa, Quang Nam provinces over the last decade.
The solar lantern donation programme was conducted by Panasonic Company in collaboration with World Vision International in Viet Nam and the People's Committee of Dien Bien province. Additionally, Panasonic organised a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) experience session for local students, following the Ministry of Education and Training's orientation, using engaging and interactive tools that also incorporated communications of environmental protection and efficient clean energy usage.
